O2 wins contract for Apple iPhone in UK - on sale for £269 with contrcat of minimum £35/month
Let's see... The iPhone is $399 in the USA, which at current exchange rates is £199. According to isupply.com it costs $280.83 (£139) to make. I smell a ripoff.
Explain that one, Apple fanbois
So that's minimum £35 over an 18 month contract which is £630. Plus £270 for the phone itself is £900.
The US total cost was 1950+-USD (4gb)
And dosn't O2 only have like 30% EDGE coverage?

Yeh - they apparently placed a huge order for the upgrade kits for the transmitter masts a few weeks ago and all their engineers are busy upgrading at the moment.
O2 are using it to steal customers off the other networks basically.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like an iPhone simply because it's everything in one device, but in the UK you can usually get the phone for free and contracts start at £20. That's a heck of a difference in cost.
Live Communication Server 2005 is the worst shit ever.
Even more ranting...

Well Apple explained it as "VAT" (17.5%) which the US don't get and "The higher cost of doing business with the uk"
*cough*
I actually didn't find the tarrif *that* offensive, but I was expecting them to be high anyway. I'm clearly still going to get one though :x
The EDGE/GPRS thing is a bit shit, but most places where I am have WiFi anyway so I'll cope until they work out how to implement 3G without annihilating their battery life requirements in later gen.

Nah, that VAT business is smoke and mirrors. USA has local sales tax instead of VAT. The tariffs aren't THAT bad I agree, I pay £29 a month as it is.
My sister has it and it sounds pretty good though i am probably the wrong guy to ask for quality when it comes to sound, because i am not that interested in anything but the volume button. if my neighbors can listen to my music i am happy
Tried ringing it?
If no answer, claim on house insurance and buy an iPhone

After diluting with dichloromethane and extracting ten times with water I still get no product after rotational evaporation, and some damn dimethylforamide is still left. That ground my gears today...

Oh yer and another thing I just realized when I walked to the grocery store. People not using their car's turn signals, I just wanna run after the car with an aluminum bat and dent it fiercely for making me wait 20 extra seconds before I can realize the car is turning and not driving past me. And apparently we have a large concentration of imbeciles with broken blinkers in my city.

Sharkie, the lights is only there for decoration, if you need to warn people behind you that you are turning.. well then your driving to slow so they caught up with you
On the other hand, retards placing themself behind you when driving with the headlights at full on the other hand, they deserve the 780Watt's I retaliate with after letting them pass
And yes, I went a little crazy on the lights when I bought em, gonna convert the 3 Bosch Navigators to Xenon soon aswell
Thats because a standard LCS installation is pressing next 20 times or so, then enabling the users
But what I am doing is setting up a multiple party video conference solution inside LCS/OC client where you can connect regular video conference units and lcs mixed
LCS only supports point-to-point video, not multiple participants and it only handles SIP.
So I need to configure routing for the SIP to direct multiple participant conferences to a gateway that converts it to H323 based and back again from a MCU
